Art Partner

I recently received the internship I have been waiting to announce and now that its official I finally can!
I will be working for Art Partner in Soho. This is the internship I have wanted most and exactly where I want to be, so amazing for things to unfold the way that you envisioned, proving that with hard work, determination, and persistence dreams can come true. I will be working amongst some of my favorite photographers, videographers of all time such as Terry Richardson and Mario Testino working with agents, producers, and the film department.

Snow-ward Bound.

I am leaving Sunny Southern California with anticipation to return to my apartment in Freezing  Brooklyn. I am really looking forward to being back in my own room, my own place, and returning to work, school, interning and the daily grind the is NYC life. I enjoyed my trip home, got to see all the old friends and spent some much needed time with my family. I have a lot to look forward to in the city this year, new classes, Spring in NY, and an internship that I will mention in a later post. : )
Hell I'm even ready to see some snow.. maybe not the storm that is coming as soon as I get back.. but some.

Anyways got some new gear before braving the cold, some sick boots, jacket, scarves, and of course the Official TUX&TIE winter hat.

What are your winter essentials? Hit me with a comment in the comment box.

Red Suit.

Hate him or love him Kanye West exudes confidence. Only a confident person could rock an all red suit and make it look fly. The VMAs were lackluster and this performance wasn't mind blowing, but I'm feeling the song and ready for is new album. This song is definetly a much darker song for Kanye ..the man has certainly been through alot these past few years.

FNO

New York has been amazing so far! Fashion Night out was one of the coolest events I've ever been to. The stores were basically open all night with dope DJs, stores full of models and designers, and drinks being served in the stores for free. I only brought my old point and shoot and snapped a few photos but I was to busy in all the excitement of the night with some my friend Erin and some of her homegirls. The shot above was of a band called Lana Mir performing in Bloomingdales. Dope music. Great Whiskey.

Let me fill your heart with joy and laughter.

Yesterday marked the one year anniversary of Michael Jackson. It is hard to believe that just one year ago we lost the most influential musician of all time. Michael is my favorite singer of all time! I'll be there is my favorite song form the Jackson 5. This song really means so much to me and evokes all kinds of emotions everytime I hear it.
Michael you will live on through your music forever.

A photo I shot in Hollywood last week of his star right across from my job.

strike a pose.

I was pretty disappointed with ANTM this season, however I think that Raina and Krista were the best choices to make it to the finals. I was really pulling for Raina because she is drop dead gorgeous. She is hott! I think Krista had a good face/body for modeling, but rarely do they pick the hott girl for the win. And as I figured Raina didn't win. I'm sure Krista and Raina will have a great career ahead of them.

D Wade App.

Dwayne Wade is one of the few NBA players that have a great style. (And of course King James) This app is pretty cool. It allows you to mix and match clothing options right on your phone. The NBA Playoffs are amazing this year and it looks like I might be able to see my home team the Cavs take the Championship. But they need some competition... so right now Imma root for L.A.!

Yellow Swoosh.

There is something about a new pair of shoes that just makes you feel amazing. I've been through tons of brands in my day but nothing feels close to getting a new pair of Nikes. As a broke college student I have not bought a new pair of shoes in over 2 years. Or a least anything nice for that matter. I am proud to say today I got to go crazy and spend a bit out of my budget for something I like!
Next up is my NikeID!

Nathaniel Goldberg.

Great Photographer. The work of Nathaniel Goldberg. Be sure to catch his work on the cover of the new April 2010 cover of GQ featuring Shia Labeouf. The pictures combine proffesionalism to the fullest with classic style, which produce stunningly debonair photographs.

Oscar Buzz 2.

Carrie Mulligan.
So here is my vote for best dressed. I thought her dress was age appropriate and made her look chic, elegant, and youthful. And I loved the adornment of embellishments around the top full of scissors. Dope. Now on a recomendation of my trusted film colleague I will have to go check out her movie An Education.

And Best moment of the Oscars definitely goes to Ben Stiller and his hilarious portrayal of the Na'vi.
I liked the dance sequence also. I swear the song from Up is so enchanting as it slows. I link the song to what happened in the movie, and it honestly brings a tear to my eye every time.

Great night at the Oscars.

Caulfield Preparatory

VHMV9K4KT4Z4

The newest issue of GQ has a section full of the top designers to look out for and the work of Vincent Flumiani was chosen for his label
Caulfield Preparatory. Out of all the designers his work stood out to me with a freshness to it. It has a preppy feel, but with an edge. An the cut look amazing, everything is just as slim as it needs to be. Bold patterns are mixed with solids to make eye catching designs full of vibrant colors. It almost seems like it is not from Los Angeles but at the same time has a Southern California feeling.

The 25 Most Stylish Men in the World, 2010 Style: GQ.com

The 25 Most Stylish Men in the World, 2010 Style: GQ.com

Follow the link to place your vote. It looks like Robert Patterson is in the lead. A few of my favorites are definetly missing from this list, Kanye, JT, John Krasinski etc etc but overall a decent list. My vote went to Pharrell Williams from the Neptunes, but I guess he was no match for a vampire.

And the best TUX & TIE goes too...

John Krasinksi. One of my favorite actors in Hollywood. He always seems to dress well, even in his roles on the screen in the office and the recent comedy starring Alec Baldwin and Meryl Streep, "Its Complicated". John seemed to be one of the few, or maybe the only one of the guys who stepped out of the box and wore a navy blue TUX & TIE, instead of the traditional black. Sweet. His fiancee Emily Blunt looked gorgeous in her dress. Good match.
The globes was a lot duller than I had hoped but I was very excited to see "the man" Martin Scorsese to win the Demille award and Avatar for best motion picture. YES!

D'oh!

The Simpsons has been amongst one of my favorite shows of all time. Groundbreaking and incredibly funny they paved the way for generations of shows to come. The 20 year special that aired on fox was amazing. It really showed so much how The Simpsons plays such a dramatic role in our global culture from rides to memorabilia. The special is equipt with all sorts of fun and interesting facts, like that many of the characters were named after streets in Portland, Oregon and Springfield is based on that very city.
