Dopeness For Christmas

Jimmy Fallon in my opinion is the new King of Late Night. Sure his monologue is terrible and Conan is still the man, I always find myself staying up way to late to watch Fallon and his hilarious sketches and show. It is just more fun than any other late night show out there. And to add to that he has The Roots as his band... THE ROOTS. Peep this clip and if I dont post in the next few days HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE!!!

VIDEO SHORT

This is a short I had to make for class titled "Unlucky'. I only had a day to shoot it and cut and narrate it and was able to churn out this rough cut of the project. When I get a chance I would like to cut it shorter because it drags on in several scenes but check it out!
Of course during the making of Unlucky my laptop broke. Luckily its almost Christmas.

FAVORITE ADS DECEMBER

I haven't had much of the chance to blog since I ran into a few laptop issues during finals and have been busy preparing for my month long escape from New Yorks winter, and GOING GOING BACK BACK TO CALI CALI. Just got home and man does it feel good!

I wanted to share one of my favorite new ads from Mountain Dew that features a song from Theophilus London. Check it out.

Alex Bag.

My video teacher referred me to the artist Alex Bag and her work has really inspired me. Like me she teeters the line between fine art and commercial art. The piece I have been most interested in is called Untitled Fall 95' which documents the fake story of an SVA student over the course of their studies at SVA. It is hilarious because it reminds me so much of people that I know. She starts out as a fun and happy art student willing to learn who is slowly sucked into the New York art scene and becomes a pretentious snob who overlooks her professors, fellow students, etc all to eventually leave art entirely and work at a coffee shop. Throughout the piece she also segways between the art student confessional with references to other New York types, and bad experiences with odd teachers and men.
I like this piece because it is still relevant in 2010 and accurately describes many of the students in the art culture and a youth culture that refuses to grow up and is then forced too.

Watch the whole piece here. If your an artist as well I'd love to here what you think.

INMYZONE2

Love or hate it, Chris Brown has a new mixtape out called In My Zone 2.
In my opinion as a big fan, I think its an "okay" mixtape, but doesnt get me to hyped for the new album F.A.M.E. nor does it top his previous mixtape, Fan of a Fan which featured hip hop artist Tyga.

Best song on the album by far is "Life Itself", with heartfelt lyrics over an old school R and B sound and the newest single, "Boing".

I think fans are ready for an album, so lets hope fame comes out sooner than later.

Blame Game.

So Kanye made his way out to the Thanksgiving Day Parade here in NYC. I encourage everyone to check out Ye's album, I'm not gonna say its better than College Dropout, but definitely one of my favorites of the year. Right now I'm feeling just about every track, but my favorite by far is "Blame Game." This song is so gritty, honest, and heartbreaking. And the Chris Rock skit at the end is pure comedy.
And I know that you was somewhere doing your thang, and when the phone called it just rang and rang, you aint pickup but your phone accidentally called me back and I heard the whole thing."

Holiday Cheer.

With tomorrow being Thanksgiving, I wanted to post a little seasonal cheer and promote a charity that is very important to me. Toys for Tots is a great organization that delivers new unwrapped toys to children in need over the holidays. There are drop off locations located all over the United States. If you are in New York like me I recommend stopping by the iconic FAO Schwarz in midtown at 767 5th Avenue where you can purchase a toy there and drop it off there as well as it is also a Drop Off Center. There is so many children out there who could really use your help and this is a great chance to really make a difference in someones holiday. Find out more here, along with other drop off locations, TOYSFORTOTS

Happy Thanksgiving!

Maestro Knows!

Photo courtesy of Maestros intern, Devlin whose posts you can view here Devlin

Yesterday I took off work early and jetted down to Reed Space in Manhattan to see the homie Levi of Maestro Knows. This is the nicest person you will ever meet and is loaded with intelligence on how to market yourself as a brand name and always inspiring others to work hard and do what they believe in. He was just over in Vegas the night before filming for Usher hopped on a plane and edited his video on the way to NY, helped out the community by lecturing to students, all to later hop back on a plane and continue shooting in Vegas. I will try to post some of the lecture if I get a chance to chop some of the footage which I shot on my point and shoot Nikon S8100. With my conversation with Maestro he definitely gave me some good points on how to promote yourself in a new and big city and how I should approach pricing.

Check his work here at MAESTROKNOWS   nothing out there quite like it

There was also the head of the head of the Jordan Apparel line who I was able to get in touch with about a payed internship for Jordan! :)

Great way to start the week for sure!

November Ads

As I gear towards a career in art and advertising I wanted to include a monthly posting of some of my favorite ads and a short description of why I like them and why I think they work. Here are my 2 picks for November.

This commercial is beautifully shot and stands out as very unique with a bizarre twist. The songs are both effective especially when the animals prance in to Blossom Dearies, Doop Doo Dee Doop. Great tagline also, "Just the Right Amount of Wrong".

Good choice of casting using Mad Mens John Slattery. I think the piano theme is haunting and grabs your attention. Futuristic style commercial that makes the Lincoln actually seem cool, a tough feet. There is a follow up commercial incorportating the holiday season as well.

Brooklyn Museum

If your in the area I definitely urge you to check out the Brooklyn Museum. I went today with class and it has many great contemporary works dealing with all sorts of topics such as feminism and race. We had to go for a variety of artists but most specifically to see the intricate work of Fred Tomaselli.

Great Week.

I always want to allow my readers to connect with me so I wanted to share a few updates.
We recently moved into our new building at Pratt which is absolutely amazing and my office is dope now. We will also be getting our own studios next week. Take a look at the space!

Also this past weekend I was able to check out the NYC Marathon from my balcony.

NYC is such a great city to live in, but I love to travel and see more. I'd love to know where are you from and what makes your city special.

Goodbye Hipster

Aw! I have been away from the blog because of an insane amount of homework. Grad school is infinetly more work than an undergraduate program which makes me all the more happy that I went to school after finishing my B.A. so that I am still in the swing of things.
That Being said I am sorry that I haven't been very consistent with my writings both for myself and people who read this blog. I will try my hardest to write more frequently
I encourage everyone to pick up the recent issue of New York Magazine and check out the article "What Was the Hipster." It is an utterly hilarious look at hipster culture and hipsters in general. Its funny when I first moved to New York this term was completely new to me as was Williamsburg or East Village culutre and initially I thought wow, this is pretty cool, a community of young "artist" type people. In a short time this curiosity was dimmed as the hipster is a complete contradictory in itself. They feel as though they are rebellious while dresssing all the same, anti establishment while building up massive companies that they inevitably work for, Urban Outfitters, American Apparrel etc., and want to appear poor(drinking cheap beer, etc etc) while living in apartments paid in full by their parents.
This article points out some of the funniest aspects of a culture they assume is dying in NYC.
Like I always say you can't judge everyone based on a term, and there are some really cool hipster-ish folks I have met that are nothing like the above. Check out the article in stores or the link below, Let me know what you think!
What Was The Hipster

"The hipster moment did not produce artists, but tattoo artists. It did not yield a great literature, but it made good use of fonts." - This is my favorite line from the article

Google is Everything.

I got the opportunity to head over to the Google Headquarters for my Digital Art in Context class where we got to meet Digital Artists who have combined Science with Art for their work. It featured the work of Eduardo Kac(the most controversial, but also the most interesting in my opinion), Marina Zurkow, and Andrew Senior/Sandra Cordero. Eduardo spoke about his work with Alba the rabbit, something I have learned about in both Science and Art during my undergrad. I think it is very cool that a huge company like Google is doing this event and I hope to attend more.

My latest.

I decided with my first paycheck from my assistantship to treat myself out and upgrade my point and shoot. Fortunately I still had a giftcard from my Aunt Rhea to B and H and so I headed over to the superstore near 34th street to check them out.

I originally had the super slim canon 1400 in mind because of its small size and cheap price. But I decided to upgrade from that as this is just more of an average camera. I wanted the Canon s95 but couldn't afford its price tag so I decided to cross to a new line and see what Nikon had to offer me. I ended up getting the AMAZING NIKON S8100. It has a great CMOS sensor, 10 X zoom, 12.1 Megapixels and shoots full 1080 HD video.

Gone Mad.

I very rarely get the chance to sit down and watch TV. But I always make time for Mad Men the show I connect to in so many levels and is continuously more and more intriguing. I'm so suprised I havent blogged much about it so I thought with the finale of Season 4 that I share why I like this show and why it is so important to me. I relate very much to the character of Don Draper. He is a self made man who worked incredibly hard to make it to where he is, and did this all on his own, by finding what he was good at, constantly marketing himself, and mastering his skills. Don has faced rough patches in relationships and with his business and always finds a way to come out on top and become a better businessman and person. The show helped lead me to interning for TrailerPark in Hollywood one of the biggest agencies around, and going to Pratt in NY for my Masters in Digital Arts. During my 2nd and last year here I hope to intern for BBDO or Ogilvy through my college.

The characters have grown so much it is amazing to see their transformation. Peter Campbell who I originally hated has really grown from a spoiled brat to a man, and someone who would clearly replace Don or start his own agency one day and Don see's this in Peter. Peggy has grown more assertive and also a character that could run the company one day. She outworks nearly everyone and carries that Rocky mentality of the underdog rising to the top.

So what can I hope for in Season 5? Less Betty. January Jones is gorgeous, but her character is so childish it makes me not like her. More Roger Sterling, Roger is the only comedy relief of the show and he pulls it in brilliantly. And hopefully for SCDP a rise back to the top!

Vimeo Award Festival

Morgan Spurlock

This past weekend I won tickets to the Vimeo Festival for Friday and Saturday. I wasn't able to make it on Friday because of work and class, but I went all day on Saturday with a friend from Pratt and it was an amazing experience. My day started off with a lecture from Morgan Spurlock, director of Supersize me who I got to meet after te show and discuss the future of filmmaking. I attended several more guest lectures and later took a class with Philip Bloom a world class director who uses DSLR for video. The night ended with a party at the IAC building full of directors, festival attendees and a fully stocked open bar. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget and I made plenty of great contacts here in the city.

Video footage broadcasted in synchronicity across the IAC building.

THE SOCIAL NETWORK

This was ultimately one of the best films I have seen for a long time. The actors, script, and film production was perfect. I rarely this but this film was done exactly as it should have been made! I recommend to anyone who grew up as facebook as an imperative part to their lives or those curious as to how this site became what it is today to check out The Social Network.

Tuxandtie Meets 13th Witness

On 9/13 I got an invite to attend a show by a major inspiration of mine 13th Witness. I first heard about this photographer through Maestro Knows and have been following his work ever since. He is constantly shooting, learning to get better, and is completely self taught. He shows me that through dedication you can attain your dreams which has lead him to work with many great artists including one of my all time favorites John Mayer. I met 13th at his first show at Reed Space in Manhattan and was impressed with the great work and the turnout. Check out his website at www.13thwitness.com and a short documentary piece below.

Burchfield. Marclay. Ikeda.

So while at school at Pratt I have got the opportunity to see many great shows and exhibits. It is a great feeling to be so connected to the city and I love going with my fellow students to see the exhibits and here what everyones take on the work is. Just this past week I have went to 2 events. The first was at the Whitney where I examined the work of painter Charles Burchfield. My favorite exhibit however was by Christian Marclay who exhibited his music with pop art artifacts.
Last night I went to the French Inistitute to see a video art piece by Ikeda. This piece was amazing which in my opinion was showing the vastness of the universe and mans relationship to it. The sound was mind blowing in the theatre and at times got so loud that it made alot of the people uncomfortable.
I love that New York has so much culture in the arts and that I get an opportunity to experience it. I can feel my mind evolving and growing and that I am growing as an artist. I am now so eager to create and work on my projects! I will be sure to post some of the work here.

Red Suit.

Hate him or love him Kanye West exudes confidence. Only a confident person could rock an all red suit and make it look fly. The VMAs were lackluster and this performance wasn't mind blowing, but I'm feeling the song and ready for is new album. This song is definetly a much darker song for Kanye ..the man has certainly been through alot these past few years.

FNO

New York has been amazing so far! Fashion Night out was one of the coolest events I've ever been to. The stores were basically open all night with dope DJs, stores full of models and designers, and drinks being served in the stores for free. I only brought my old point and shoot and snapped a few photos but I was to busy in all the excitement of the night with some my friend Erin and some of her homegirls. The shot above was of a band called Lana Mir performing in Bloomingdales. Dope music. Great Whiskey.

I want you.

I think this video is ill and mad sexy. I love black and whites. Its directed by Vashtie, a dope director and my self admitted celebrity crush. Theophilus's music is very diverse and his mixtape is available online. Check it out its definetly worth checking out. His music is full of hot beats and clever lyrics. I'm feeling like this guy is really gonna blow up. I think they is a chain of events about to happen.. Theophilus becomes the new Cudi, Cudi becomes the new Kanye, Kanye becomes the new Jay Z. But what would that make Jay.. a hip hop diety?

Bella

Today in class we watched several great shorts. I thought this one was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. When the music slows it completely pulls you in, especially the shot of the foot in the puddle that is intricately choreographed to the music of the piano. I definitely understand and have felt this feeling, where time almost stands still for you to be with someone and nothing can stop you. Nothing compares to that feeling.

If you like this piece by Arev Manoukian I recommend you also look at the Making of Video which shows how intricate this project really was. View it here nuit blanche http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfwmQu9UfQg

Brooklyn Loves Michael Jackson

This was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever attended. The Brooklyn Loves Michael Jackson was an event held at Prospect Park here in Brooklyn celebrating Michael Jacksons Birthday. Spike Lee hosted this event for the 2nd year and it was amazing to see so many people come together peacefully to sign and dance all day to MJ. Special guests were there and had performances from Snoop and Warren G and of course the great Spike Lee was there. This was something  I will never forget and if you are a Michael fan I encourage you to come next year! I know I will be there again!

I have seen this painter all over NYC. Great work.

Snoop, Warren G, and Spike.

Vegas?

Admittedly so, with life increasingly moving at a faster pace and so many projects going on, I would have to say that I sometimes get a bit out of touch with popular culture.
Sure this song is incredibly catchy and endorsed in a Las Vegas commerical but I really dig it. Its just one of those feel good songs that just seems to work. Reminds me of a song from The Juliana Theory called On the Top Of The World that I really liked as a kid.
Anyways The band is called Neon Trees and the Song is Animal.

Pizza

Ever since I jumped on the plane to New York I've realized the importance of pizza to the city. Before coming here I wasn't a huge pizza fan. But when your here you start to learn how great it is. It an on the go food, for an on the go lifestyle. You can hop in and grab a slice just about anywhere for a reasonable price.
My favorite spot so far has been Luigis Pizzeria off of Dekalb which is right near Pratt. The ordered a slice of Hawaiian that melts in your mouth. It was gooey and greasy and perfect! Apparently it has a history as well as the outside poster claims Omar Epps used to deliver for them and Chris Rock used to kick it there. Brooklyn!

Hipster? No. Hip? Fo Sho.

So upon moving to Brooklyn I have learned many new terms, and the funniest is the "hipster". I have never really heard this term used to quite the same extent in California and had only really referenced in when talking about "Hipsters in Space" from current. (See video above) So what is a hipster? That is a good question. Now some of the hipsters are the coolest people you will ever meet. Ahead of the curve, pioneers who are the advocates for a change. However many are clones. Waves of rich 20 somethings who seem to have scrapped their personality to blend into an UO ad.
This post isn't anti hipster, just sharing a new term for those unfamiliar with it. And in some ways I suppose even I could be considered a hipster. For me I will just stick with my blog title. Hipster? No. Hip? Fo Sho.

Hello Pratt

I can hardly contain myself. I am so excited to start school at Pratt! (Probably the most excited I have ever been for school!)
Today began with orientation where they provided us with food and we met the department chair for a meet and greet of the department. I feel so lucky to be accepted into such an elite group that is the Digital MFA program of only 50 accepted students. Everyone here is incredibly friendly and I got the opportunity to meet many new students. The school is so dope. Everything an artist could ever wish for and the campus itself 25 acre escape from the city that features amazing work throughout the campus. This is one of my favorite pieces and in my opinion the most striking, which is entitled "Leucantha" by Philip Grausman. I feel like the face is so striking that you could never forget this piece.

I am so excited and hope to write much more soon, but for now I am enjoying taking in everything that Brooklyn has to offer.
I can safely say that coming here and being at Pratt is something I have longed to do for so long and I am so greatful to my family and friends for helping me along my journey and always being there for me, because coming here is one of the greatest decisions I have ever made in my life and I can't wait for the amazing experiences that awaits!

LA in NY

This last week has been one hell of a week! I am finally all moved in to my place in Brooklyn (Woop Woop!) and have a good week before school starts to explore the city. Today I went through WIlliamsburg to grab a bite and check out a few of the local stores. Firstly the shopping and vibe down here is amazing. I will probably be dedicating a few posts just to that.
But today I thought I would get my Anthony Bourdain on a introduce a topic I never touched while in Hollywood. The food.
Brooklyn is full of amazing restaurants and bars and by know means am I claiming to be the go to guy about food out here. I have been to my fair share of restaurants in the area with my Brooklyn familia, but I am still new to the scene. With that I bring you L.A. Burrito in Williamsburg. I had a craving for Mexican food and happened to see this place along the way.

I got the Calamri Burrito which was filled with mexican rice, green onions, pico de gallo, avocado, ginger dressing, and calamari in a Spinach Tortilla that had a sweet and satifsying taste. This burrito was really nothing like I've had in So Cal, but it was delicious! I will make it a point to share some of the spots i hit from now on and please feel free to leave comments and give me opitions about other great restaurants/bars in New York. I will be trying not to stick to one place and venture out!

Episode 2.

TUX IN TIE IN HOLLYWOOD EPISODE 2: ALL ACCESS PASS from Alex Ingram on Vimeo.

Over the summer I worked for TrailerPark/Artmachine which gave me a great insight to life in Hollywood and what it is like to work for a major marketing agency. I was able to meet a lot of amazing artists that I hope to keep in contact with and decided to make a few videos documenting a day in the life and share what I have learned to everyone.
Originally this was going to be made every week however as my work load increased I was not able to keep it going. Still got some great footage. Check it out.

All for the Love

Maestro has been one of my biggest inspirations in the art game right now. Not only does he produce his content at lightning speed and have it ready for his viewers, he does it with amazing editing and a great story to tell. I figured this video was only fitting seeing as how my new journey in life will start in Brooklyn tomorrow and I think the poem at the beginning is super dope and super true.  Keep up the great work Levi!

Last day in Hollywood.

Today was my last day in Los Angeles for my internship with TrailerPark/Artmachine. It was basically the most amazing opportunity I have ever had and has really helped me focus on my career. Thank you to everyone I met and I am sure I will see you again in the future when I get my M.F.A.
Until then, goodbye Hollywood.
And hello New York.

Knowledge + Creativity

I've never really been a fan of reading. Call it a product of being groomed in our modern age, but my attention span for a classroom novel has never been very high. That has been changing over the past year however as I am realizing how important my knowledge is to my success. The idea of learning not only for the sake of entertainment or knowledge, but rather the prospect to earn more money is making what used to be a task much more engaging to me.

Currently I am finishing up two books at once. One is entitled "The King of Madison Avenue" about world famous Ad Man David Ogilvy and the other book is "How To Make it As An Advertising Creative", which I have added a quote below which helps further my enthusiasm for school.
"If you have picked up this book because you think you might want to work as an advertising creative and you are wondering whether you have to take college to get such a job, there is a simple answer to your question. You do."

Marco Brambilla.

After viewing the Kanye West video i was inspired to look up more info on the director and view his website. All his pieces are amazing , especially the piece "Civilization" which is much like the "Portrait of Power". The man's work is amazing and helping me remember that I shouldn't only focus on art for advertisement, but also for the joy of creativity.
Check out the website at
http://www.marcobrambilla.com/

This is not a Kanye West Music Video.

Kanye and director Marco Brambilla have made it clear that this is not a music video. It is the Portrait of Power. Check it out. Its one of the most visually amazing pieces I have seen to accompany a song. I my opinion there are only a handful of people that will truly be remembered for the revolutionary style and lyrical content and Kanye fits this concept of an Icon.
Check out the video here and I also encourage you to watch the short documentary also up on Vevo.

By the way I hate Vevo. Just make it Youtube.

Quotes.

In my quest to establish myself as some sort of success I have taken to reading every book I can on advertising, art direction, business management, and new techniques in the practice of digital arts. I have never quite had the ambition to read until this Summer. I think it is because I am out of school and actually realized I have real earning potential and furthering my own knowledge can help increase what I am earning. I am currently reading The King Of Madison Avenue, my second book this summer on the exceptional, David Oglivy. I will be periodically sharing a few quotes from the book that I enjoy. Here is one of the first.

"New York is a city of freaks; there is always room for one more of everything."

Always knew I was an artist.

Growing up I was always different, even when I tried my hardest to blend in with the crowd. While being unique used to be a trait that I loathed, it has come to be one of my favorite traits. Extraordinary people didn't get to where they are by blending in, but rather by embracing their quality and letting it lead them to great places.
I am moving to Brooklyn in two weeks and I am incredibly excited, but at the same time I am starting to realize that the world I know is going to change all over again. I got a bit nostalgic looking through old photographs and drawings from my past, but came to a good conclusion when I saw this drawing and many more.
I am an artist and I love to create. My career ambition as a child was to be a famous artist. I used to direct videos starring my best friends and edit them in camera. I would dream up companies and slogans in class. I was a painter for Halloween on numerous occasions. I feel at ease about this move to know that I have always stayed true to myself and that I am accomplishing the dreams I have envisioned since I was a little boy.
So in two weeks from now when I begin my life with a fresh start at Pratt in Brooklyn , I will be at ease knowing that art has always been apart of me.

Thank You.

A friend of mine, David, from Extraordinary Productions shared with me this video that features one of my idols and role models Pharrell Williams. This shows him sharing some great knowledge not only on how to be successful, but how to be a better person. I've rewatched this several times now for the advice and positivity that Pharrell emits. Focus and hard work will lead to great things and there will be many people and things that will try and bring you down, but as long as you stay strong and surround yourself by people who make you want to be better, the success will come!

Amazing Voice.

Every Sun I make my drive to Long Beach and then to Hollywood for work at Trailerpark/Artmachine and the ride got a little easier listening to the Bruno Mars EP. I didn't even realize until i got to Hollywood that the EP only had four songs because I had to keep replaying each one over and over again. The two best tracks to me are "Somewhere in Brookyln" which has a feel reminiscent of the 1950's and my favorite track which I am sharing here is "Talking to the Moon."The lyrics to this song are amazing. This guys voice is one of the best I've heard in a long time and I am very particular about who I think has an amazing voice. I'm expecting big things from Bruno Mars and can't wait for the LP.

Don't say ASAP.

I realized I haven't posted for a week as I have busy with my internship and job, so I wanted to share a movie I recently re-watched that I think is brilliant. Funny People I feel was a completely underrated comedy in terms of the box office and from some of the critics ratings. But in my opinion the film is brilliant. The ensemble cast is perfect and this is one of Adam Sandler's best performances. I love the raunchy jokes and when your watching the movie it almost feels as though you are just hanging out with some of the funniest people in comedy. The first time I saw the film I thought that it was funny but went a little to deep in the emotions, but upon re watching it I think it was one of the smartest comedies I had ever seen, that is able to mix  concepts of true love and friendship and somehow seamlessly mix that with penis humor. If you haven't seen it or if you are a fan of Judd Apatow I recommend you check this one out.

Welcome Back.

Chris Brown has been on this blog several times. Through all the controversy he still remains as one of my favoirte artists out right now and I think that his long awaited performance at the BET awards this year has redeemed himself in the eyes of the public and his star can only rise from here. It may be to early to say it right now, but WELCOME BACK.

Let me fill your heart with joy and laughter.

Yesterday marked the one year anniversary of Michael Jackson. It is hard to believe that just one year ago we lost the most influential musician of all time. Michael is my favorite singer of all time! I'll be there is my favorite song form the Jackson 5. This song really means so much to me and evokes all kinds of emotions everytime I hear it.
Michael you will live on through your music forever.

A photo I shot in Hollywood last week of his star right across from my job.

My biggest inspiration. Ari Gold.

Strange that my biggest inspiration is a fictional character. Ari Gold is cut throat, does whatever needs to be done, and is all about his business. All traits that are slowly growing on me as I start my professional career in the entertainment industry. The advise he gives to Turtle in this scene is brilliant. He talks about starting out in a mail room and working his way up. Working while in his undergrad and his graduate degree. All steps that I have been taking. Hopefully that means one day I can attain Ari Gold success.

Tuxandtie in Hollywood.

Anyone that knows me, knows I love L.A. It's one of my favorite cities that I've been to in the world, and definitely one of the coolest in the U.S. I recently got the call back for an internship at TrailerPark and Artmachine which is a huge company that makes movie trailers, web pages, game design, etc etc etc. for some of the biggest movies including Avatar, Sex and the City, and thousands upon thousands more. I will be working amongst some of the greatest in the business and got to meet many of them on my first day last week. My dream one day is to an art director and then a creative director like many of the people employed here, which is why I am going to Graduate School at Pratt, one of the top design schools in the nation. I will be working alongside Kip Terry, one of the photographers here helping with shoots, setting things up, and archiving and extensive list of photographs. My plan to make a name for myself on both the East Coast and the West coast is in play!
The offices are amazing. The location is so dope, right on Hollywood Blvd. next to Kimmel and the Kodak Theatre. Here is just a quick look at where I will be working. If you are a fan of the show Entourage, the layout is very hip and modern, Picture Ari Golds latest agency, with beautiful views of Hollywood from all windows! CLICK READ MORE TO VIEW PICS!

Its Working.

MGMT is probably my new favorite band. In fact they are inspiring me to keep up my pursuit of the guitar and start a band this Summer. I've used their music in various projects and they recently released this video for the song "Its Working" which is one of my favorite tracks on the album. Be sure to check out their album Congratulations, that features two of my current favorite tracks, Siberian Breaks and Brian Eno.
Purchase the album here via Amazon.
Congratulations
